A very rare Japanese Suzuki technical staff mechanic all-weather jumpsuit – coverall (つなぎ). This personal tsunagi dates back to the Showa Era in the 1980s and is not easy to find. These coveralls were not sold to the public, and many of these older coveralls come from smaller technical Suzuki dealerships around Okayama Prefecture.
Did you know that Suzuki’s journey in motorsports began in 1951 with the introduction of its first motorcycle, the Colleda? Although they didn’t win on that day, the spirit of competition was ignited, which paved the way for Suzuki’s remarkable rise to the top of the motorsports world.
In 1962, the legendary Ernst Degner secured Suzuki’s first Grand Prix victory in the 50cc class, which marked a turning point in the company’s history. This achievement unleashed a wave of success, propelling Suzuki to the forefront of motorcycle racing and leading to several championship wins.
Suzuki’s expertise in motorsports extends beyond motorcycles, and the company has also made significant contributions to automotive racing. In 1963, Suzuki made its mark in the Formula One World Championship, showcasing its engineering prowess and unwavering commitment to innovation.
