Bold and striking, this Japanese Mad God movie poster highlights the nightmarish world of Phil Tippett’s cult stop-motion horror film. The design prominently features the large, distressed red title MAD GOD against a deep black background. A lone, gas-masked figure stands atop a writhing mound of grotesque creatures. Japanese text at the top and along the side emphasizes Tippett as a legendary special-effects creator, while the film’s Japanese title, 「マッドゴッド」, appears in bold red near the bottom, reinforcing the apocalyptic theme.
A chirashi is a Japanese mini-poster released to movie theaters before the film. They are printed in limited quantities. The size is usually 18cm x 26cm (B5) or 7 1/4″ x 10″ or practically the same as a U.S. domestic comic book.
