The Yokohama DeNA BayStars baseball team is a professional baseball team in Japan with a rich and fascinating history. Founded in 1950, the team underwent several name changes before becoming the Yokohama DeNA BayStars in 2012.
Over the years, the BayStars have had their ups and downs, but they’ve consistently remained a fan favorite and a formidable opponent on the field. The team’s best season came in 1998 when they won the Central League pennant and advanced to the Japan Series.
Several talented Japanese players have played for the BayStars, including Tomo Ohka, Kazuhiro Sasaki, Takashi Saito, Shota Imanaga, and Yoshitomo Tsutsugo, all of whom played in MLB.
